TRACKER ORGAN BUILDERS

Tradition. Expertise. Technology.

Stefan Maier Tracker Organs offers high quality pipe organ service to clients all over New England, and beyond. We care for some of the more renowned organs in our home state of Massachusetts, such as the Old North Church, Mechanics Hall and Harvard University. Our services range from regular servicing and tuning to building, repairs, and full restorations. Our shop is fully equipped to do tonal, wood, leather, metal, and electrical work. We are also experienced in moving and rigging large instruments. We enjoy rendering our services to the small local country church as much as to the more prominent institutions, and strive to keep services customized precisely to a client's needs and budget.

Servicing

To function at optimum performance, every machine or apparatus needs proper care and maintenance. This is certainly true for pipe organs, which require quick response, quiet operation, light action, and reliability over a large range of temperatures and humidity. Our general expertise combined with our ability to hone-in on the very specific character and needs of your individual instrument, gained over time, makes our work precise, quick and efficient.

Building & Restoration

Our 5,000 square foot shop is equipped to rebuild and restore organs of all builders and vintages. Most of the work is done in-house: woodwork, leather work, and metal work as well as tonal work. One of our guiding principals in this work is to respect and preserve the spirit and concept of the original instrument. Fashion trends are often the demise of a good pipe organ. Therefore, we are generally inclined to maintain or restore the instruments in order to preserve their integrity.
